2:30 PM, Friday Afternoon Book Group discusses 'Interior Chinatown' (Zoom)
Friday, September 10, 2021
Interior Chinatown is a novel full of wit (and bite!) that won 2020's National Book Award. Set in Hollywood, and written partly in the style of a screenplay, this hilarious, inventive, and unexpected novel follows the adventures of an Asian-American actor who dreams of action-movie stardom. The author 'solders together mordant wit and melancholic whimsy to produce a moving exploration of race and assimilation that shouldn’t be missed by intellectually adventurous readers' says Anita Felicelli of the San Francisco Chronicle.
