The first hour of this workshop is dedicated to more complex construction, best for ages 7-8. The last half hour is more accessible for younger children, ages 4-6. Grownups are welcome to participate, and are invited to help their children throughout the workshop. Families are encouraged to go on to be a part of the kids Kinetic Classic, and enjoy or get involved in the Kinetic Grand Championship.

Inspired by the dazzling large human powered art sculptures that are featured in the 37-mile Kinetic Grand Championship on Memorial Day Weekend from Arcata to Ferndale, this creative project challenges artists to create a sculpture that can be directed through our portable tabletop racetrack using all sorts of recycled and creatively reused treasures and basic crafting supplies. Great for ages 4 and up with caregiver help, or kids 7 and up on their own. Fine to work solo or in teams.
