Teachers have many tales to tell, and Dr. Kent Willis is ready to share some of the best. His book, 'Teaching 42+' distills teaching ideas and adventures from over 42 years of teaching 8th grade and high school here in Humboldt County. Dr. Willis went from graphing algebraic equations on a chalkboard in a classroom with steam heat radiators, to graphing on a white board using his laptop and Promethean software in a brand-new school. In his book, this multitalented educator offers everything from ideas for discipline and examples of class organization techniques, to suggestions for science experiments, examples of art projects, and campus improvement projects undertaken with students. Hear about an interactive art project that involved exchanging gifts with Jackie Chan, and classroom visits with a Holocaust survivor and a former member of the Hitler Youth, for a class studying The Diary of Anne Frank.
