1:00 p.m. Eureka Library, Family Workshop, 'Let's Talk About...Disabilities & Differences'

Saturday, March 16, 2019

How do we introduce the topic of disabilities to our young children? When we encounter people with visible disabilities in public, how can we teach our children courtesy and respect for others while honoring their curiosity? These questions and more are addressed in this workshop, through shared reading, conversation, and activities both for children and adults. The discussion is facilitated by Wendy Kerr, who is completing her Master of Social Work at HSU while interning at First 5 Humboldt and the 0-8 Mental Health Collaborative.
