1:00 p.m. Eureka Library, Family Workshop, 'Let's talk about...scary feelings'

Saturday, February 23, 2019

What's it like for children when they hear about scary things happening in the world? How do we talk to our children about things they may not understand? How much do we say? What can we do to help each other recover from hearing scary news or facing our own scary feelings? These questions and more are addressed in this workshop, through shared reading, conversation, and activities. The discussion is facilitated by Wendy Kerr, an HSU student completing her Master's of Social Work while interning at First 5 Humboldt and the 0-8 Mental Health Collaborative.

Breaking News & The Rabbit Listened are two books in the Scary Feelings program.
