6:30 p.m. Eureka Library Classic Film Series, The Great McGinty

Tuesday, January 22, 2019

Depression-era bum Dan McGinty is recruited by the city’s political machine to help with vote fraud. His great aptitude convinces ‘the boss’ that McGinty would be ideal as a new, nominally ‘reform’ mayor; but his candidacy requires marriage. However, his in-name-only marriage to honest Catherine proves the beginning of the end for dishonest Dan... Starring Brian Donlevy, Muriel Angelus, and Akim Tamiroff. Written and directed by Preston Sturges.
