Leading up to the Eureka celebration, Sept. 29 at 4:00 p.m. is the very last moment to turn in Harry Potter inspired artwork to be displayed in the Eureka Library starting October 1. All artwork must be your own original creation, appropriate for viewers of all ages, two-dimensional and no larger than 16-by-20 inches. / Next, McKinleyville Library hosts a 3D printing pen craft night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Weds. Oct. 24. Make a Harry Potter-themed creation (recommended for ages 10 and up.) / The big celebration starts Sat. Oct. 27 when Eureka Library opens at 11:00 a.m. Most activities are available until 2:00 p.m. or while supplies last. / Sign up in advance to learn to use the magic of words against Dementors or bullies in Defense Against the Dark Arts at 11:30 a.m. for ages 7-11 or 12:45 p.m. for 12 and up. DADA classes are 40 min. and limited to 20 participants, although non-participating parent observers are welcome. Call 269-1910 for more info. or to sign up.

Muggles & magical beings of all ages are invited to this Harry Potter Celebration. Come get sorted into a House, make your own wand, and meet Hagrid! Embark on a Horcrux hunt, transfigure yourself using props in the photo booth, and test your luck (no Felix Felicis potions allowed!) in the Goblet of Fire give-away, with prizes donated by a number of local businesses.
