September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, with Superhero Events

Come by the library to see a superhero movie, make super crafts, or get a special superhero library card. See our lineup below! Throughout the month of September 2018, the Humboldt County Library System hosts a variety of FREE activities and events to recognize Library Card Sign-Up Month.

All September
Drop-in superhero-themed crafts and activities will be available all month in the Eureka Library Children’s Room. Stop in anytime to participate!

Beginning Sept. 1, while supplies last
Special library cards featuring the superhero family The Incredibles will be available at libraries throughout Humboldt County. As always, your first library card is free, and replacement cards are $4. 

Weds. Sept. 5, 5:45 p.m. 
Bring your family to Eureka Main Library for a night out together! Draw while watching part or all of the The Incredibles 1.  The movie is rated PG and appropriate for ages 7 and up. Drop in any time during the showing for kids to choose a paper mask and design their own superhero character while watching the movie together. 

Wednesday, Aug. 29, 7:30 p.m.
Fortuna Library will show The Incredibles 1, with free popcorn and soft drinks. Watch as this undercover superhero family, while trying (and failing) to live a quiet life, are forced into action to save the world. The movie is rated PG and appropriate for ages 7 and up.
