6:30 p.m. Eureka Library, local author Peter Jain, Can Emu Really Sing Jambo?

Wednesday, May 23, 2018

Join local author Peter Jain for a playful reading of his new book 'Can Emu Really Sing Jambo?' It's a bilingual book, so the Spanish title is 'Puedes Emu cantar realmente Jambo?' Mr. Jain is about to retire from 29 years of teaching music at Pine Hill and South Bay Elementary Schools, and the book reflects his love of music and learning. Students from South Bay School created the artwork for the book, which was published collaboratively by Humboldt State University Press and SequoiaSong Publications.

Puede Emu cantar realmente Jambo?

Can Emu (a big blue bird with root-beer colored eyes) Really Sing Jambo?

Children and their families are invited to visit with the author.

Hear the author read, sing, and talk about his book.  See the illustrations, drawn by local students!

It's based on a true story... sort of.

The book will be available as a library book.  This program also includes an opportunity for families to purchase their own copy of the book, have it signed by the author, and talk to him about the writing process.
