Between 1939 and 1934, movies revealed a world of crime, sex, and shocking behavior that would swiftly be forbidden by hastily organized censorship bodies. Many films ventured into risky topics that, after the code clamped down on filmmakers, weren't revisited until the 1960's. After tonight's showing, you are invited to stay and discuss this movie under the auspices of the evening's host, Charity Grella.

Based on the play The Gold Diggers by Avery Hopwood, and hosted by Charity Grella. Three out-of-work showgirls are hoping for a job on a new musical about the Depression but soon find out that the supposed producer is himself broke. When young singer-composer Brad Roberts offers to foot the bill, his upper-crust family sends a henchman to reel Brad home. But the man will have to deal with the showgirls first…
