2:00 p.m. Arcata Library Movie, Pete's Dragon, PG

Saturday, March 24, 2018

After 5 year old Pete's parents are killed in a car crash, he finds himself alone in the forest. There are wolves there...but Pete is rescued by a big, friendly dog-like dragon who becomes a protector and friend, enabling him to live a wonder-filled forest life. When Pete is eleven, the world comes crashing in. Pete will need all his bravery and maturity to meet the challenge of threats to the forest and protect his dragon friend. Pete's courage, mature decision-making, and the importance of forest conservation are positive messages in the film, which has sad scenes but also very beautiful and charming moments.

A wild forest boy reaches up to pet the nose of a giant green-furred dragon.
