6:30 p.m. Eureka Library Classic Film, Stormy Weather.

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

Stormy Weather is more-or-less based on the real-life career of Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, as told in an original story by Jerry Horwin and Seymour B. Robinson. Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson plays himself, a talented dancer who returns home in 1918 after fighting in World War I and tries to pursue a career as a performer. Along the way, he falls for a beautiful singer named Selina Rogers (Horne). Features incredible performances by Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Katherine Dunham, and the unequaled Nicholas Brothers. Stars Lena Horne, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Cab Calloway, and Fats Waller. Directed by Andrew L. Stone. After the film, you are invited to stay for a discussion under the auspices of the evening's host, Michael Cooley.
