We are sorry to report that the library will not open on Saturday September 23 after all. Books can be returned whenever we finally open, during open hours, or you may return books at any other Humboldt County Public Library (either during open hours or in their book return).

The Blue Lake Library is still closed, and will continue to be closed at least through Saturday September 23. Seeing how it's been going, we don't want to make any promises about being open on Wednesday the 27th, but we will post the information as soon as we know for sure.

What you can look forward to when the project is complete
- Accessible parking space
- A better bathroom, with more room for parents helping children and for wheelchair users
- An easier-to-use entry door
- An upgraded entry ramp, with optional stairs
- Also, all of the above meet the latest ADA compliance standards! When these standards are met, they make using a building easier for everyone, old and young, able-bodied or living with a disability.
- When our new door is installed, it will not have a book-return slot. The library is looking at options for how to offer after-hours book returns, but for now please return books either during Blue Lake open hours or at any other Humboldt County Public Library branch.
