Notice of Temporary Accommodation

The following WIC facilities are not currently in complete compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, also known as ADA.

Humboldt County is committed to serving all residents regardless of ability. If you would like assistance to enter or use this facility during business hours, please make your request in person, by calling either office or via email to the ADA Coordinator at ADA@co.humboldt.ca.us.

Food Services

WIC provides special checks for nutritious foods such as:
  • Annual Farmers' Market Nutrition Program vouchers for qualifying families
  • Dried beans, dried peas, and peanut butter
  • Infant formula with iron
  • Juice and cereal
  • Milk, cheese, and eggs
  • Tuna and carrots for breastfeeding women

These foods do not meet all the daily requirements and are only intended to supplement the participant’s diet.

Nutrition Services

WIC provides nutrition assessment and education including:
  • Individual nutrition education
  • Instructions in food preparation and tips for food shopping
  • Limited assessment and screening by staff who are trained in maternal and child health

Breastfeeding Services

WIC provides breastfeeding education and support:
  • A Certified Lactation Consultant is on staff and accessible to all postpartum women and infants.
  • Electric breast pumps available for loan
  • Manual breast pumps available
  • Participants receive encouragement, education, and help with breastfeeding


WIC provides referrals to:
  • Child support services
  • Dental health services
  • Domestic violence services
  • Substance abuse counseling and treatment
  • Support services for food, income, and housing
