About the Station

The McKinleyville Station, formally known as the Law Enforcement Facility (LEF) was built with funds raised by the citizens of McKinleyville and it's many proud business owners. The community raised over $150,000 for construction of the 1,800 square feet facility. The facility held its grand opening in the fall of 1999 and became an immediate home for the Sheriffs Citizens on Patrol (S.C.O.P) members. The S.C.O.P.'s continue to work and hold their meetings out of the facility.

The Sheriff's Office continues to reorganize its patrol divisions and soon hopes to be fully staffed to serve the communities in the North county area. Assigned staffing would include one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, and 11 Deputies. This staffing will provide 24-hour coverage, seven days a week.
