Keep it Safe

Overdose, injury and suicide can be prevented with safe storage of firearms, alcohol, cannabis and medications. Call Healthy Communities at 707-268-2132 for more information about lockboxes.The Keep it Safe program is a collaborative Public Health campaign of the Suicide and Violence Prevention and Substance Use Prevention programs providing free lockboxes to community members who need them most. Lockboxes can be used to safeguard over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs, alcohol and other drugs, cannabis products and firearms.

Are you a community member looking for a lockbox? If so, you can come to the Community Wellness Center at 908 Seventh St. in Eureka to pick one up. If you have questions about obtaining a lockbox or cannot make an in-person visit, please email or call the Healthy Communities Division at 707-268-2132.
