The Keep it Safe program is a collaborative Public Health campaign of the Suicide and Violence Prevention and Substance Use Prevention programs providing free lockboxes to community members who need them most. Lockboxes can be used to safeguard over-the-counter medications, prescription drugs, alcohol and other drugs, cannabis products and firearms.
Are you a community member looking for a lockbox? If so, you can come to the Community Wellness Center at 908 Seventh St. in Eureka to pick one up. If you have questions about obtaining a lockbox or cannot make an in-person visit, please email KeepItSafe@co.humboldt.ca.us or call the Healthy Communities Division at 707-268-2132.
The Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission has launched Striving for Safety, a website designed to support you to increase safety for yourself or a loved one, friend, colleague, or client.
