Hold Requests

You may place a hold request on any item in any branch of the Humboldt County Library. (This does not include reference materials, since they are for in-library use only.) You can reserve an item yourself by using the online catalog, or ask a Reference Librarian to place your hold. You will need your library card.

How to Reserve the Books or DVDs You Want

1. First, search the catalog to find the item you want.

2. On the page where the catalog shows the location of the item and whether it is checked out, use the Request Button or the Request Link.

You may have a total of 4 hold requests at any one time.
This is an image showing the location of the request button, which is also described below.

3. How to Find the Request Button or Request Link

When you are on a page showing just one item, the Request Button is at the top of the page.

When the page has a list of several items, the Request Link is on the right hand side of each book's record.  That allows you to select the book or other item you want from the list.
