Secure Youth Treatment Program

In September 2020, the Governor signed SB 823 Juvenile Justice Realignment: Office of Youth and Community Restoration.

Starting July 1,  2021, California no longer accepted youth for a commitment  to the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). Each county was required to develop their own plan for services and facilities for youth to remain in their community and support the re-entry to community. The Humboldt County Realignment Plan was developed through the County’s Multi-Agency Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (MAJJCC) subcommittee on Juvenile Justice realignment with support of many community members.
