Due to COVID-19, the Humboldt County Correctional Facility has made modifications to its inmate visitation procedures. A limit of four inmates and no more than two visitors per inmate will be allowed per visitation session for social distancing purposes. Hand sanitizer will be available in the public visitation lobby and a disinfectant wipe will be offered to visitors to take with them to their visit. All visitation booths will be cleaned following each session. Additionally, all visitors will be required to wear a facial covering in compliance with the Humboldt County Health Officer’s Facial Coverings Order.
Inmates housed in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility are allowed at least two half-hour visiting sessions per week unless they have lost their visiting privileges because of a disciplinary sanction. Visiting sessions begin on the hour and half hour. Inmates are only allowed one visiting session per day. Visiting is on a first come, first serve basis.
To visit an inmate, fill out a Visitor Request Form in the public lobby of the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (901 5th St. Eureka, CA) during the inmates scheduled visiting hours. After completing the form, present it to the receptionist, no less than 15 minutes prior to the visiting session you wish to attend, with one of the following forms of identification:
- Any state driver's license
- Any state identification card
- Federal identification card
- Military identification card
- A current DMV printout requesting a Driver's License or State Identification card
After entering your information, the receptionist will tell you which visiting booth to use, which elevator to take and which floor the visiting room is on. Please wait in the lobby area until directed by the receptionist through the metal detector to the elevators. The elevators are controlled by a remote operator. There is no need to push the elevator's buttons except to get the operator's attention or in case of an emergency. At the end of the visiting session, please leave the visiting room when asked. Failing to do so may delay the next visiting session. Opens a New Window.
No one under 18 years of age will be allowed to visit unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or provides proof of emancipation. Only one visitor is allowed at a time.
- No cameras or recording devices
- No smoking, eating or drinking in the visiting room
- No wearing provocative or revealing clothing
- No hand signals or note writing
- Disruptive behavior or interfering in another inmates visit is prohibited
- Intoxicated persons will not be allowed to visit
Violating any of these rules will be cause to disallow the visit and could result in the suspension of visitation privileges.
Visiting hours depend on the inmate's housing location. An inmate's housing location can be obtained from the receptionist or by calling 707-441-5159.
Visits are 30 minutes in length. Visitors must be in the lobby and have items locked up 10 minutes prior to each visiting session.
