Election workers serve in many positions. Below is a summary of positions available, specific duties, time commitment, qualifications, and compensation provided. 

  

 

Manager

Duties: Leads a team of election workers at an assigned polling place; coordinates with the Office of Elections, assigned polling place, and team members; assists the Office of Elections recruit team members; assists with setup and closing; and guides team’s Election Day assignments. 

Time Commitment: Approximately 17 hours from June 6th to June 7th. Training required. 

Qualifications: Worked a minimum of one election as an inspector or a manager. Possess valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Headshot photo required.

Compensation: Up to $116 per election

Voting Equipment Technician

Duties: Maintains efficient function of voting equipment; sets up and takes down ADA mitigation equipment; assists with setup and closing; and performs Election Day team assignments.  

Time Commitment: Approximately 17 hours from June 6th to June 7th. Training required.

Qualifications: Worked a minimum of one election as an inspector, inspector-in-training, or rover. Possess valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Headshot photo required.

Compensation: Up to $111 per election.

Rover

Duties: Deliver election supplies to polling facilities. 

Time Commitment: Approximately 16 hours on Election Day. No training required. Headshot photo required.

Qualifications: No experience required. Possess valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Headshot photo required.

Compensation (1-day): Starting at $15.11/HR

Clerk

Duties: Assists with setup and closing; and performs Election Day assignments. 

Time Commitment: Approximately 17 hours from June 6th to June 7th. Training required.

Qualifications (preferred): Worked a minimum of three elections. 

Compensation (1-day): $111. Paid training.

Ballot Transporter

Duties: Travels to assigned ballot drop off locations to collect and return voted ballots to the Office of Elections. 

Time Commitment: Up to 4 hours per day from May 11 - June 7. Training required. Headshot photo required.

Qualifications: No experience required. Possess valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance. 

Compensation: Minimum of $20 per day. Mileage reimbursement.

Election Night Worker

Duties: Assists the Office of Election after the polls close to receive and processes materials delivered from the polling place teams. 

Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours on Election Day. 

Qualifications: No experience required. Must be an employee with the County of Humboldt. Headshot photo required.

Compensation: Starting at $15.11/HR
