Accessibility Notes for Library Databases

Databases are online information sources that the library subscribes to so you can use them for free with your library card. The library strives to use sources that have a commitment to access for people with disabilities and are making progress toward universal access.

Even the best databases aren’t perfect for everyone, so if you find your access to information barred because of a format that doesn’t work for your disability, just let us know. Library staff will work with you to get the same or similar information in a format that you can use.

This page is incomplete because it is under construction. Please bear with us as we add notes for more of our databases - and add new resources!

Book Connections Access Note

Book Connections is provided as a public service by the Humboldt County Library and the California State Library’s K-12 Online Resources Project. It offers access to information about award winning books for young people, author interviews, and materials for teachers and home-schooling families. Book Connections does not usually include the whole book, so please check the library catalog or eBooks page to see if our library has the book.

Some functions of Book Connections may lack video descriptions and/or captions (though most offer the words in another text format). If you are unable to access the information as provided on this site, please call the Library at 707-269-1915, email the Library, or visit the library during open hours to get the information in a way that will work for you.
