Return Ballot

Voters are advised that they are responsible for how their vote-by-mail ballots are returned and with whom they entrust their ballots.

Methods for Returning a Vote-by-Mail Ballot

Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned to the Office of Elections in any one of three ways:

  1. By Mail. The return envelope must be postmarked by Election Day. No postage is required.
  2. Drop-off at the Office of Elections. The return envelope must be dropped off by 8 pm (PST) on Election Day.
  3. Drop-off at any Polling Place. The return envelope must be dropped off by 8 pm (PST) on Election Day.

Signature Verification

Voters must sign the eligibility oath and date the vote-by-mail return envelope before submitting their ballot. Every signature is verified before the ballot is cleared for counting. If a signature is missing or if the signature does not match the one on file, the Office of Elections will notify the voter to enable the voter to provide a valid signature.
