Summer Reading Program

Children play among the branches of a tree, big smiles on their faces.

When school lets out for the summer, the Library begins its Summer Reading Program.

Arcata Library sign-ups start Saturday June 16.  There's a fun welcoming celebration at 3:00 p.m., Everyone is invited to sing, no expertise necessary, with Maggie McKnight of 'Humboldt Sings'.

All children are welcome to join in Summer Reading, plus we offer challenges for teens and adults.

Check out the library events calendar for special events in our branch!  You can also subscribe to be notified 3 days before each event.

MOVIES: The First Thursday & Last Saturday

Thanks to the Friends of the Arcata Library, there is state-of-the-art audio and video equipment at Arcata Library.

With a few exceptions, we show an evening movie on the first Thursday of every month at about 6:00 p.m. and host a family movie day on the last Saturday of each month.  Check the library calendar to see what's coming up and be sure of the date.
