ABOUT NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

The Neighborhood Watch Program is a program that brings neighbors together to not only identify and combat crime, it creates a sense of community and develops safer neighborhoods for all.  The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office NWP is a three part process starting with a volunteer presentation with basic information, suggestions, and helpful handouts, and it is an excellent opportunity to get to know your neighbors better (or to meet for the first time).  The next step is having a deputy attend the second meeting for an entire hour or more to answer questions about your particular neighborhood, having them give suggestions on better "watch" techniques, and assuring you that the Sheriff's Office does know about what is going on in your part of the county. Part three is a Disaster Preparedness training for one to two hours that is created specifically for your neighborhood.
