6:30 p.m. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? at Eureka Library Film Series.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Based on the novel by Henry Farrell. "Baby Jane" Hudson was a child star in Vaudeville, but fizzled into a minor actress as an adult. Meanwhile, her sister and rival, Blanche, became an acclaimed star in the growing motion picture industry, then was paralyzed from the waist down in a mysterious car accident -- possibly due to their rivalry. Now retired, the two live together in a decrepit Hollywood mansion, where Jane increasingly controls and isolates Blanche, tormenting her and becoming more and more unbalanced until finally the sisters' secrets are revealed to all. Starring Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Directed by Robert Aldrich.
