Loan Periods & Borrowing Limits

Loan Periods
The standard loan period is 28 days, with the following exceptions:
  • Highly requested material is loaned for 7 to 14 days, depending on length.
  • Audiovisual material is loaned for 7 to 14 days, depending on format (see below.)
  • Holiday material in season is loaned for 7 days.
  • Magazines are loaned for 7 days.
  • Branch loan periods may vary by location.

Borrowing Limits
There is no limit on the number of books that can be checked out at one time. You may view your current checkouts at any time by clicking on “View Your Record” from the library homepage and entering your library bar code number.

  • Audiovisual loan periods are limited as follows:
  • No limit on VHS videos for 7 days
  • 4 DVDs for 7 days
  • 4 compact discs for 7 days
  • 2 language sets for 14 days
  • 4 audio books on CD for 14 days
  • From the Main Library's collection, no limit on books on tape for 14 days
  • From Branch Library collections, 4 audio books total for 14 days, whether on tape or CD.
