Humboldt County Libraries
Story times and events that happen every week may not always be included in our busy Library Events Calendar.
Be sure to check this list of library events that happen on an ongoing basis and on a regular schedule, such as weekly storytimes, monthly book discussions, quarterly film series, and annual Summer Reading Programs.

When school lets out for the summer, the Humboldt County Library begins its Summer Reading Club.
All children are welcome to join this free program.
Children in the club stretch their minds and keep up their reading skills over the summer while having lots of free, genuine fun: reading, doing crafts, hearing stories and songs, enjoying visiting performers, and learning all the time.

Ongoing Events at the Arcata Library
The First Thursday & Last Saturday
Thanks to the Friends of the Arcata Library, there is now state-of-the-art audio and video equipment at Arcata Library.
With a few exceptions, we show an evening movie on the first Thursday of every month at about 6:00 p.m. and host a family movie day on the last Saturday of each month. Check the library calendar to see what's coming up and be sure of the date.
Every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., Arcata Library hosts a weekly story hour for young children. Free, and open to all families.
A Call to Yarns
A Call to Yarns is a drop-in knitting and crochet group.
It is held every Friday at noon and is free and open to everyone.

Through the work of the Friends, the library is able to add more books and materials to its collections and offer programs to enhance library services. You can participate in volunteer activities, or simply support the Library by joining.
The Humboldt Library Foundation
The public library is a gateway to explore the world, spark the imagination, launch young minds or simply answer a question. You can help ensure our library will continue to inspire and meet the needs of the future by supporting the Humboldt Library Foundation. Visit the Humboldt Library Foundation website to see upcoming Foundation events, news, and how you can contribute to make our library and our community a better place to live.
