  1. Alternate Counsel

    If you are not able to be represented by the Public Defender or the Conflict Counsel you should contact the Alternate Counsel for representation.

  2. Conflict Counsel

    Conflict Counsel currently provides indigent legal services to the courts in felony criminal cases and misdemeanor criminal cases.

  4. Coroner - Public Administrator

    The County Coroner investigates all deaths reportable to coroner, safeguards property of the deceased, notifies and counsels next of kin, conducts inquests, administers estates, and provides burial for indigent persons.

  5. District Attorney

    The District Attorney prosecutes crimes occurring within the boundaries of Humboldt County, supplies legal and technical assistance to police agencies and serves as legal advisor to the Grand Jury.

  6. Grand Jury

    The Grand Jury seeks to assure honest, efficient government in the best interest of the people.

  7. Law Library

    The Law Library provides the bench, bar, and public with free access to up-to-date, user-friendly, and appropriate legal resources.

    The Office of Emergency Services (OES) assists the Sheriff in controlling and directing the effort of the emergency organization of the county. You will find the hierarchy in place to assist the organization and getting resources to the locations they are needed.
